As a first time freshman at Oregon State, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to seek out activities and programs to become involved in during your time on campus. LSAMP is a great way for you to get to know other students in the STEM fields and build a community of diverse scholars. Feel comfort in knowing that you have a place and a group of people that are invested in your success as you pursue a baccalaureate degree in one of the many STEM fields offered at Beaver Nation. The best way to get involved with LSAMP from the beginning is to contact us. There are a number of programs during the summer and early fall that we can refer you to.
The Pacific Northwest LSAMP alliance includes community colleges where students can become affiliated with LSAMP before stepping foot on a university campus. Those community colleges include Chemeketa Community College (OR), College of Western Idaho, Columbia Basin College (WA), Highline Community College (WA), Linn-Benton Community College (OR), Seattle Central Community College (WA), and Yakima Valley Community College (WA). If you are a student currently enrolled in a STEM program at any of these community colleges and are interested in transferring to OSU and participating in LSAMP, please contact us.
In addition to those community colleges, Oregon State University has a Degree Partnership Program with numerous community colleges in the state of Oregon as well as in Hawaii. This program gives students the opportunity to complete a university degree more quickly and more affordably and allows students to be jointly admitted to Oregon State and one of the partner institutions. If you are interested in the Degree Partnership Program or transferring to OSU, please contact an Admissions Advisor.
